this is some hilarious tomfoolery.
his charles manson-esque beard doesn't seem to help, either.. mel may be a powerful guy, but something tells me there'll be a price to pay for his anti-semitic remarks, even if they were made in a sauced-up state.
"Dear Mel... you're a real JERK when you're drunk."
Now, for some real world facts about Hollyweird ...
1. Major players in Hollywood wouldn't financially and P.C. back "Passion of the Christ"... Mel went out and raised his own money. Movie made a BOATLOAD of cash. (btw, Mel never really did the Hollywood thang...)
2. Hollywood loves Boatloads of cash, doesn't matter if you're a Jew, Christian, Buddist, whatever ... in a couple of months they'll be referring to this DUI as "that little incident" and WISHING Mel would co-produce his next big hit with them .
3. The paying audience has even shorter memories, especially if someone is remorseful... get ready for the rehab SPIN, and "Mel's really a nice guy".... he'll be bigger than ever.
my 2 cents...
sudoku!
i admit it i'm a sudoku junkie.
it all started on a plane ride from california.
Yeah, I'm HOOKED (big time) .... I got a book of 100 easy sudokus. At first I would write real small in each square those numbers that were 'probables'.... the puzzle looked a mess by the time I was done. Now I can do them without writing any 'maybe' numbers down.... it's addictive. I've moved on to the more complex puzzles, but sometimes it takes so long that I return to the easy ones just to feel like a 'winner'...
i see that quite a few are following the dreadful attacks in lebanon.
today i went swimming to cool off with mr c and we were discussing what ways we could make our disapproval and anger at israels actions felt, besides being human shields.
(mr c reckons i'm big enough to stop one missile, but would be pretty useless after that.
FIRST, I'm going to boycott Hezbollah for starting this recent MESS.
i was forced to go to kh (to all of the meetings!
) from just a couple weeks before i turned ten until i turned eighteen.
it was awful and i was never baptized.
In all fairness I'll wait for her response.
Yeah, me too. If someone else has noticed a different style in writing, then there might be something to someone else posting under her name. Let's wait until she can defend herself >>>> going to get the popcorn <<<<<
my dil called to tell me that she, my son and the children got dress to go to the meeting last night.
they have been somewhat irregular in meeting attendance.
she has been receiving constant pressured from her sister to attend.
and so "hope springs eternal".... good news....
sorry if this has been covered already.. 1) what is the written policy about disfellowshipped ones having a resurrection?.
2) what if the disfellowshipped one is d'd for apostasy?.
reason i ask is an ex elder who was disfellowshipped for apostasy is very ill and may very likely die soon.
One of my relatives still in has almost blamed his illness on abandoning the 'truth'
And of those devout JWs who die of illness, what would she then say...? scheesch..
bear with me as i lay the ground work for the conversation to follow .
today i had to go for an annual work physical, and the doc is someone that has known my family from when we first were married .
he isn't my personal physician, but worked with my husband for years when my mate was an emt.
Nice story.... who knew that personal and loving common sense was still alive in the medical profession..... you're lucky to have such a doctor and 'friend'. Thanks...
hi my name is lisa.
i'm not an elder of course and never have been.
i was a jw for just a few years and then relocated and left it behind.
Oh and Susanhere your pathetic little put down would show your heart too I think. I was very dedicated to the LDS although only young, I was baptised at 8 and the church felt I was at an age of understanding did'nt they ? So all events were very clear to me as I was so wrapped up in LDS ,giving Sacraments, talks etc and only left when forced to by my father
hmmmm, is that anyway to start a sentence (do I sense a little bitterness here)? Maybe you should take your anger up with your father and not out on other posters.

Well said ElderBarry. I have many Mormon friends. I've been on this board for over four years and I can't count the number of times I have to laugh at some of the misconceptions people have about the Mormons. As a social group, they are outstanding.... I enjoy most of the activities within their church, especially the sports and beach parties. I also enjoy getting into deep religious discussions without them getting "nuts" like my JW friend.... they feel no threat...just "take it or leave it...whatever" attitude. Your post is "right on" with my experience with them. WELCOME to the board.
